South actor Nivin Pauly has brought an action-drama on the table this week. The film titled Moothon is a Malayalam language film released along with Nalpathiyonnu 41 and  Android Kunjjapan Version 5.25. The film is gaining positive reviews from critics. The film seems to be leading the three-way contest at the Malayalam box office collection. Apart from Nivin Pauly and Shobita Dhulipala in the lead characters, the film also stars Sanjana Dipu, Shashank Arora, Dileesh Pothan, Jim Sarbh, Roshan Mathew, Harish Khanna, Sujith Shankar, Melissa Raju Thomas, Vipin Sharma, Ajay Indrajeet Yadav in key roles.

Reportedly, many film critics gave rave reviews to Moothon for its story and performances of the actors. The lead character, Akbar played by the Richie actor gained praises from critics and the audience. The Geetu Mohandas directorial is rated 8 out of 10 on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb). Most of the users reviewed the film on IMDb with good ratings. The success of the film was evident ever since it was lauded in different film festivals across the globe. The film was first premiered at Toronto International Film Festival in September 2019. Later in October 2019, the film was premiered in India for the first time at Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) in Mumbai.

The bilingual film is gaining the praises for its gripping story of a boy living on an island, who is searching for his older brother. The narration of the film reportedly kept the audience on the edge of their seat. As per reviews, the film completes its first half with an unexpected plot twist. The look of Nivin as Akbar/Bhai is referred to as intense by the critics. The first half of the film is reportedly said to be thoroughly engaging. The cinematography and songs are also hugely praised by critics. The reviews also labelled the film as a must-watch.
