Mouni Roy: From Krishna Tulsi to Rukmini; the Naagin actor's journey

Mouni Roy is gearing up for her upcoming release Made In China. The actor have many projects in her kitty. Take a look at her journey from TV to silver screen.

Ever since the trailer and songs of the upcoming comedy-drama Made In China were released, fans and the audience started adoring TV actor Mouni Roy for her work in the film. Mouni marked her debut in the Bollywood with Reema Kagti directorial film Gold in 2018. She shared screen space with Akshay Kumar in this movie. With her acting skills, she grabbed the attention of many filmmakers of the industry. The actor has many ventures in her kitty. Here is a glimpse of her journey from TV to Bollywood.

Mouni Roy's Journey 

Mouni Roy started her acting career in 2007 with Ekta Kapoor's popular daily soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as Krishna Tulsi. Till 2011 she participated in celebrity reality shows like Zara Nach Ke Dikha and Pati Patni Aur Woh. She was also a part of popular serials Kasturi and Do Saheliyaan. It was 2011 which gave a turning point to her career. She was featured in a Punjabi film Hero Hitler in Love. She also worked in popular mythological series Devo Ke Dev Mahadev as Sati and another television serial Junoon: Aisi Nafrat, toh Kaisa Ishq. 

Ekta Kapoor's Naagin gave her immense fame and made her a household name in 2015. Later she dubbed for an animated film Mahayodha Rama. She made her first appearance on the big screen in a dancing number of 2016's Tum Bin 2. Apart from her debut in 2018, she also made a cameo in K.G.F: Chapter 1. In 2019, Mouni was featured opposite John Abraham in Romeo, Akbar, Walter.

In an interview with a news agency, she mentioned that leaving a flourishing career in TV for Bollywood felt like leaving home. In an interaction with a leading daily, the actor revealed that her experience in TV never made things easier for her. Supporting her comment, she said that she gave auditions and look-tests for each role she has done so far. 

Currently, the actor is busy maintaining her time schedule for her upcoming projects. Made In China is slated to release on October 25. After Made In China, Mouni will essay a pivotal role in Ayan Mukherjee's Brahmastra and Aamir Khan's Mogul: The Gulshan Kumar Story.
