Namaste London vs Namaste England box-office collections: Then vs now

After the film Purab Aur Paschim was released in 1970, many movies were made on the concept of East-meets-West with the angle of a love story and patriotism intertwined in perfection giving rise to a hit movie. Two such movies were made by director Vipul Amrutlal Shah titled Namaste London in 2007 and Namaste England in 2018. Namaste London was one of the most loved movies starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. Namaste London was termed as box office hit and the majority of viewers loved the film and its iconic songs. The same was expected with Namaste England released in 2018, but the film was not able to score high box office collections. Let us compare the numbers of both the film to give a clear view.

Namaste London vs Namaste England collections

According to Box office India, Namaste London collected a net total of 37,29,00,000 INR in India. In international collections, the movie gathered a gross total of £877,000 in the UK, $1,250,000 in US/ Canada,  $670,000 in the Gulf, and $266,000 in Australia. The movie  Namaste England collected a net total of 7,92,25,000 INR in India, £110,500  in the UK, $105,000 in US/ Canada, $150,000  in the Gulf and $29,000 in Australia.

Future projects of the lead actors

The lead actor of Namaste London, Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar will be seen together in their next film titled Sooryavanshi which is directed by Rohit Shetty and would release next year in 2020. The lead actors of Namaste England will be seen together in the movie Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. Arjun Kapoor will also be seen in his upcoming December 2019 release with Panipat directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. Currently, Parineeti Chopra is gearing up for her Saina Nehwal biopic titled Saina and will also be seen in Bhuj: The Pride of India, and The Girl on the Train as well.
