Although Sacred Games 2 might have received criticism over its plot and screenplay, the Brazilian novelist and lyricist Paulo Coelho does not feel so. Coelho in his tweets recently appreciated Nawazuddin Siddiqui for his phenomenal acting skills. He also praised the Netflix series ‘Sacred Games’ via his official Twitter handle. Replying to his appreciation Nawazuddin Siddiqui exclaimed that he is a big fan of Coelho’s writing and regularly follows the movies based on his novels. Amid the many controversies that surround 'Sacred Games 2', this appreciation comes as a relief.
Sir @paulocoelho I hv read ur books The Alchemist & also watched d film 'Veronika decides to Die' based on ur novel I hv always been an ardent fan of ur writing & it's an honour 2 be noticed & mentioned by someone like you I don't have words to describe the feeling— Nawazuddin Siddiqui (@Nawazuddin_S) September 14, 2019

Anurag Kashyap’s release ‘Sacred Games: Season 2’ disappointed the viewers in more than one way. With the plot receiving criticism, Sacred Games 2 also sparked unrest amongst the Sikh community. BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa accused Anurag Kashyap of hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikh community in the latest season, where, the protagonist Sartaj Singh, played by Saif Ali Khan throws away his ‘Kara’ (metal bangle). ‘Kara’ is an important component of the Sikh religion, it is one of the five ‘Kakaars’. The other four ‘Kakaars’ include, Kesh (uncut hair), Kangha (comb), Kachera (cotton loincloth) and Kirpan (iron dagger). Manjinder Singh Sirsa took to twitter to express his disregard over the scene.
I wonder why Bollywood continues to disrespect our religious symbols! Anurag Kashyap deliberatly puts this scene in #SacredGamesS2 where Saif Ali Khan throws his Kada in sea! A KADA is not an ordinary ornament. It’s the pride of Sikhs & a blessing of Guru Sahib @NetflixIndia @ANI pic.twitter.com/c2KMbJVrwA— Manjinder S Sirsa (@mssirsa) August 19, 2019
I have filed a criminal complaint against #AnuragKashyap for Spreading communal content, hurting religious sentiments in his serial #SacredGames @ANI @thetribunechd @TimesNow pic.twitter.com/JuS8s52Maj— Manjinder S Sirsa (@mssirsa) August 20, 2019
