Nawazuddin Siddiqui, also known as Nawaz, is considered to be one of the most sought-after actors in the industry and a luminary with a classic rags-to-riches story who has come a long way in the film industry. From a chemist and a watchman to one of the most in-demand actors, his story is no less than a Bollywood film story itself. He has established a high stage for himself with his films and his most-applauded role of Ganesh Gaitonde in the popular Indian web series, Sacred Games. However, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been a part of some popular Hindi films, before Gangs of Wasseypur, where he went unnoticed.

Films in which Nawazuddin Siddiqui went unnoticed

1. Sarfarosh (1999)

Although not as a lead role, Sarfarosh was Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Bollywood debut. In Aamir Khan’s Sarfarosh, Nawaz essayed the role of a criminal in the custody of cops. Aamir’s character meets him in jail to gather some information regarding a raid he was involved in. Reportedly, it was during the shooting of Talash that Nawaz reminded Aamir Khan about his appearance in Sarfarosh and how it was their first meet.

2. Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003)

Nawazuddin Siddiqui played the role of a pickpocket petty criminal in Rajkumar Hirani’s Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. in 2003. He shows up in a scene when Munna (Sanjay Dutt) pretends to be a doctor in front of his parents. Sanjay Dutt's character is called out by Nawaz’s character as being a goon and not a doctor. However, Nawaz’s character ends up getting thrashed by Munna’s gang in a comic scene that is a must-watch.
