Nawazuddin Siddiqui is undoubtedly one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood. According to IMDb and various sources, the actor has multiple projects lined up for release and in the pre-production stage. The journey to this stardom was not easily attained as he struggled for a period of 12 years. Here is Siddiqui's story that many can take inspiration from.

Early days

Nawazuddin Siddiqui hails from Budhana, Muzaffarnagar, a small town in Uttar Pradesh. Reportedly the area where the family lived was a violent one. Nawazuddin’s family moved to a better place for Nawazuddin and his sibling’s education. Nawaz completed his college education from a university-based in Haridwar. He struggled to get by until he decided to join theatre. He joined the National School of Drama and passed out in 1996.

From Budhana to Cannes

Nawazuddin landed his first significant role in the 1996 Aamir Khan-starrer Sarfarosh, wherein he played the role of a terrorist. Nawazuddin had to still walk from set-to-set to procure roles and live hand-to-mouth due to poverty. It was not until 2007 that Nawazuddin got his big break in Anurag Kashyap’s Black Friday. Nawazuddin started to land parallel roles after this film. In the following years, Nawazuddin Siddiqui played various roles in films that were showcased in international festivals. Peepli Live and Patang were few of his success line-ups.

Nawazuddin played multiple roles in both villainous and hero categories. He successfully managed to reinforce himself in the audience’s mind when he was cast in Gangs of Wasseypur in 2012. After this film, there was no turning back for the 43-year-old star. He was seen in critically acclaimed films like The Lunch Box, Kahani, Badlapur in the following years. He was a part of Oscar-nominated Lion in 2016. Nawazuddin's success story cannot be completed without the mention of his massive hit with Netflix's series Sacred Games. He played the role of Ganesh Gaitonde in both the parts of the Netflix series.

On the work front 

Nawazuddin was seen in the comedy film trailer Houseful 4 which is releasing on 26th October this year. His upcoming films include Bole Chudiyan directed by Shamas Siddiqui alongside Athiya Shetty. The initial release date for the film is 2nd November. It is much awaited by Nawazuddin Siddiqui's fans.
