OMG 2 Vs Gadar 2 Advance Booking: Will Akshay Kumar Film Catch Up With Sunny Deol Starrer?

One of the most anticipated box office clashes is lined up. OMG 2 and Gadar 2 will hit the theatres on August 11. Both movies have huge expectations riding on them. With the advance booking open, the box office battle has begun.

• OMG 2 has been granted an A certificate by the CBFC while Gadar 2 has received a U/A certificate. 
• Trade experts have predicted that Sunny Deol starrer will have the upper hand in the initial days.  

Lowdown on Gadar 2 vs OMG 2 advance bookings 

The advance bookings for both films have opened. As per reports by Sacnilk, both films are set to be box office hits going by the initial response of the audience. In comparison, Gadar 2 seems to faring better than OMG 2 in advance bookings as of now.

Gadar 2 has sold 90,885 tickets ahead of the film’s release. The collections through these bookings rest at a staggering Rs 2.42 crore. National Capital Region has emerged as the highest contributor in ticket sales for the Sunny Deol starrer followed by Mumbai. 30,050 tickets of the film have sold through national multiplex chains like PVR, INOX and Cinepolis, as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh. 

OMG 2 gathers momentum

Until Friday, (August 4), collection from advance bookings of OMG 2 stood at Rs 25 lakh. Overnight, the film’s ticket sales saw an increase and the collection now stand at Rs 38.05 lakh. The Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi starrer has already sold 11,367 tickets. National Capital Region and Mumbai are the biggest contributors to the film’s business.

Though OMG 2 has registered a positive advance booking collection, the film’s business still lags behind Gadar 2. A delay in the film’s trailer also contributed to the film’s slow advance bookings.
