The director of Panipat, Ashutosh Gowariker, recently reacted to the comparison that is being done between Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in Bajirao Mastani. Panipat is an Ashutosh Gowariker film which stars actors like Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and Kriti Sanon in pivotal roles. Panipat is much anticipated as the film is based on the third battle of Panipat. The trailer of the film was released recently and is being extensively discussed on multiple social media platforms.
The release of the trailer of Panipat instantly sparked a discussion amongst netizens. People could be seen drawing similarities between Arjun Kapoor’s character in the film and Ranveer Singh’s character in Bajirao Mastani. In a recent interview with a leading daily, Ashutosh Gowarikar was asked to comment on the similarities noticed between Bajirao Mastani and Panipat. He said that that is understandable as the last film that comes out stays in the recent memory of the people. He also shed light on how Jodhaa Akbar was immediately compared to Mughal-E-Azam, Bajirao Mastani to Jodhaa Akbar, and Padmaavat to Bahubali. He said that there was nothing to be worried about. He also spoke about how the film features the era of the Peshwas, which revolves around Bajirao’s next-generation, his son, Nana Saheb Peshwa, brother Chimaji Appa’s son Sadashiv Rao Bhau, and his second son with Mastani, Shamsher Bahadur. He mentioned that this is the reason why the costumes and their palace remain the same but the story is completely different. Panipat is expected to hit the theatres on December 6, 2019.
