The film Panipat starring Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles was in the buzz right since its inception. The film is helmed by Ashutosh Gowariker. The period drama will depict the events which led to the historic Panipat war. Arjun Kapoor will essay the role of Sadashiv Rau Bhau in the film. Recently Arjun Kapoor spoke about the film in an interview. He revealed that the film Panipat is special because it chronicles what went into one of the most historic battles in the country.

The film will showcase events which led to the historic Battle of Panipat

Panipat will showcase the politics and the happenings which led to the Third Battle Of Panipat. Arjun revealed details about the film saying that he is extremely excited and happy to have got a chance to work with Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon in the film. Sanjay Dutt will be essaying the role of the fierce Ahmad Shah Abdali. Kriti Sanon will be playing Arjun's love interest, Parvati Bai in the film. Talking about the film, Arjun revealed that everybody knows about the Panipat war but few know about the real reason for which the battle took place.

'Maratha valour in full glory'

Arjun Kapoor spoke about the battle of Panipat saying how the armies from all the diverse kingdoms in India had to unite to battle the Afghan army. Arjun Kapoor also said that the film, Panipat will be the first film which will showcase Maratha valour in full glory. Arjun Kapoor spoke about the comparisons of the film with the Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra starrer Bajirao Mastani. Arjun revealed that Bajirao Mastani was a beautiful character-driven film but Panipat is a film about Maratha valour. He further added that filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker has made the film with a lot of passion. The film is bankrolled by Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar. It is slated to release on December 9, 2019.
