Taapsee on Rangoli’s statement

Rangoli has been bashing the Saand Ki Aankh actors since the time the trailer was released. In one of her tweet, she said that Kangana was offered the movie before Taapsee. She also stated that Kangana refused it. Below is the tweet.

In a recent interview with a leading daily, Taapsee Pannu responded to Rangoli’s claim. She said that she cannot deny if Kangana was approached for the role. She mentioned that the makers might have gone to Kangana to play this role. They went to half of the industry as they received strange reasons from them on not doing the film. As far as she is concerned, the makers never approached her. She revealed that, when she got to know that such a film was being planned, she reached out to them instead. She further added that she has no shame in admitting that. She said that she wanted to do the role. However, it took them two years to find the parallel lead, which eventually went to Bhumi Pednekar.

Taapsee Pannu also opened up on the criticism that the makers have been facing for not casting actors of the right age in the film. She said that she agrees that both Bhumi and her are not 60-years-olds, but then that is what an actor’s job is. If she has to portray herself on-screen every film, then she would stop calling herself an actor. She would just be 'Taapsee Pannu' in every film.
