Prior controversy:

Midway last month, news surfaced that Mika Singh had performed in Karachi with his troupe to perform at the wedding ceremony of the influential billionaire's daughter who is said to be close to Musharraf. The singer reportedly performed on August 8 at the ceremony and his presence in the city came to light when some guests uploaded videos of his performance on social media. This did not sit well with netizens and fans who revolted over the idea and called him a 'traitor' on social media.

After the social media uproar, FWICE and AICWA banned the artist. The former even went ahead to say that any artist who works with Mika Singh will be banned henceforth. This was said in reference to the six-day gig that Mika Singh was all set to embark on along with Salman Khan. He was all set to join the group from the Houston leg of the tour.
