Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone's much-anticipated venture 'Chhapaak' is soon to go on floors. Ahead of the same, director Meghna Gulzar gave fans a sneak-peek to the preparations of the film. On Wednesday, February 13, she shared a behind the scene picture of a yellow dupatta on Instagram which appears to have burnt in an acid attack. The picture tells a tragic tale from its very sight. She captioned the post saying, "Prep. #chhapaak"

'Chhapaak' starring Deepika Padukone in the lead is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, who has endured the violence in 2015 while she was waiting at a bus stop in Delhi. Deepika Padukone will be playing the lead in the film and will be featured opposite 'Half Girlfriend' actor Vikrant Massey.
Deepika Padukone, who is debuting as a producer with the project, announced the making of the film on December 24, last year. The actress took to Twitter and described the project as, "A story of trauma and triumph. And the unquashable human spirit. Elated to collaborate with Fox Star Studios on #Chhapaak @meghnagulzar @masseysahib @foxstarhindi"

Meanwhile, on the personal front, Deepika who last appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2018 venture 'Padmaavat' recently tied the knot with her co-star Ranveer Singh. The pair, who has appeared in several other films together finally tied the knot in a private ceremony at Lake Como, Italy on November 14 and 15, after 6 years of courtship. As per media reports, the couple will be again sharing screen space in Kabir Khan's sports drama '83' where Ranveer will portray legendary cricketer Kapil Dev and Deepika will be featured as his wife.
