Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got married on December 1 and 2 which was nothing short of a spectacle. The couple tied the knot at the Umaid Bhavan Palace in Jodhpur in presence of friends and family. While their fans are gushing over their pictures and celebrating their love, some don't think so highly of the duo.

An off-shoot of the New York Magazine, The Cut wrote in a what can only be described as a shameful article that called the nuptials of Priyanka and Nick 'a sham'. According to this article, 'the two are power hungry and will do anything to mint money and popularity'. This, of course, has not gone down well with many.

Recently, Priyanka Chopra's mother, Dr Madhu Chopra reacted to the article and stated that it is a happy phase for her family and that she does not want to be disturbed by such 'idiotic' things.

Reacting the racist and sexist article against her, Priyanka Chopra had said ''I don’t even want to react or comment. It’s not even in my stratosphere. I’m in a happy place at this moment. These kind of random things can’t disturb it”

After facing flak from people, the writer of the article, Mariah Smith, tweeted an apology on Friday saying, "I sincerely apologize to Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas and to the readers I offended and hurt with my words. I do not condone racism, xenophobia, or sexism. I take full responsibility for what I wrote and I was wrong, I am truly sorry."

Meanwhile, the article has also accused that the wedding of the two celebs was filled with brand endorsements such as Ralph Lauren, People, Google Pixel, Tiffany's and many other famous names and continued to further push their judgmental narrative. It remains to be seen if either the actress or the international singer would dignify this venomous article with a response or not. However, knowing Nick's romantic and protective nature when it comes to Priyanka, we can probably expect some strong reactions!
