Rani Mukerji: The star bags another award for her film Hichki

Rani Mukerji is becoming a global icon with her choice of films. The actor recently bagged an award for Most Influential Cinema Personality in South-east Asia.

Rani Mukerji bags an Award at Singapore, here are the details

Rani recently bagged the award in Singapore for award-winning phenomenal work in Hichki. The film had a worldwide grossing of about ₹ 250 crores. When asked about the experience in an interview, the actor said that it is truly humbling for her to be called the Most Influential Cinema Personality. Further adding that as an actor she has been fortunate enough to have got films that inspired her and everyone who saw them on screen, some of them even sparked a conversation and also affected social change. She revealed that she has a special liking towards films that leave an impact on the hearts of people and makes them ponder about the world that we live in.

She further added that she feels it is her responsibility to give voice to what is happening around her. Talking about the film, she said that it was one such film and its message resonated worldwide with audiences, students, teachers and most importantly with people fighting the Tourette Syndrome. She added that it was a huge validation to everyone that a universal story will definitely be appreciated anywhere in the world.

On the work front

Rani Mukerji is all set with her next Mardaani 2 to hit the screens on December 13, 2019. This is a sequel to the first part where Rani will retain her character of Shivani Shivaji Roy. The film’s plot revolves around Shivani who locks horns with the devil incarnate, a young and remorseless serial killer who is raping and murdering young women. She has also been roped in for Bunty Aur Babli 2.
