Ranveer Singh refuses to do a cameo in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film?

After the huge success of Padmaavat, the director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is coming out with a new film starring Alia Bhatt. The film is a biopic on the city's reported most influential pimp, Gangubai under the title of Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film is based on a chapter in Husain Zaidi's novel Mafia Queens Of Mumbai. Reportedly, the shoot of the film is going to start this October and the director wanted his lead actor from his previous film to do a cameo in the film.

Ranveer Singh's cameo

Reportedly, Ranveer Singh has refused to do a cameo in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming film Gangubai Kathiawadi. Alia Bhatt would not be happy after not being able to do a new film with her Gully Boy co-star. According to industry sources, the film is based on the real-life story of Gangubai Kothewali, who was a brothel owner. The film is going to star Alia Bhatt and there is reportedly a chance that audiences might see the Dear Zindagi starer sharing screen space with Kartik Aaryan. The film is supposed to hit the cinemas on September 11, 2020.

The movie is based on the life of Gangubai Kothewali who is also known as the Madam Of Kamathipura. She is one of the most remembered women from the history of Mumbai. According to the book, she was forced to get her hands dirty by getting involved in the prostitution racket at an early age. She went on to become one of the most influential pimps and had some of Mumbai's most wanted gangsters as her clients. Reportedly, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has initially offered the lead role to Priyanka Chopra, but later the young star, Alia Bhatt seems to have snagged the lead role.
