Rishi Kapoor reacts to video of musicians in Turkey singing ‘Awara Hoon’, remembers Raj Kapoor and Shankar-Jaikishan
The 'Karz' actor shared a clip of two men singing 'Awaara Hoon' and playing instruments in the old town of Turkey. Making a sincere appeal, the 66-year-old actor wrote that the works of these two talented artists should be lauded and they should be recognised for keeping their work alive through a plethora of generation in India and in overseas as well.

One of the greatest director Raj Kapoor and music composer duo Jaikishan-Shankar's legacy lives on. Known as the showmen of Hindi cinema, their contribution in revolutionizing Hindi cinema has been immense. The director and the composer duo have given a lot number of melodious songs that not only resonate with the country but even overseas.
Recently, a video of musicians in Turkey singing ‘Awara Hoon’ surfaced on Social Media, Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor responding to it remembered the contributions of his father Raj Kapoor and music composer duo Jaikishan-Shankar.

His tweet read,

The iconic song from 1951 'Awaara' features the legendary actor Raj and the music of the song was composed by Shankar-Jaikishan. Shankar-Jaikishan got their break with Raj Kapoor directorial 'Barsaat' in 1949 and had many hit numbers from Movies like 'Daag' 'Shree 420' ' Nagina' to their credit.
A few weeks ago, on the solemn event of his father's death Anniversary, the veteran actor Rishi Kapoor who is in New York for medical treatment for the past eight months, paid homage to the greatest showman of Hindi cinema.
"But we will always be yours! Khyber 14 1924 (Peshawar )- June 2 1988 (New Delhi)," said his tweet.
