‘RoohiAfza’: Lead pair Rajkummar Rao-Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma all smiles as they unite for the first time in Manali

Can the team of ‘RoohiAfza’ replicate the blockbuster success of ‘Stree’? Producer Dinesh Vijan, who is building a horror comedy universe with his latest offering, would definitely want to follow its predecessor as the Rajkummar Rao-Janhvi Kapoor starrer, directed by Hardik Mehta, went on floors recently. The lead pair, along with Varun Sharma, united for the first time as the cast and crew converged.

The new schedule for the team is in Manali and it seems Rajkummar is the latest entrant to the cast and crew. The actor trio were all smiles as they posed for the cameras.

While the shooting had begun 10 days ago and pictures of the clapboard had gone viral then, it was only recently that Janhvi had joined the sets of the film. Pictures and videos of the newcomer being welcomed with cheers by spectators and also while shooting, reportedly in Roorkee, had surfaced on Instagram.

According to reports, Janhvi plays a double role in the movie, something her late mother, legendary actress Sridevi was known for. 'RoohiAfza' hits the screens on March 20, 2020.

After Shraddha Kapoor in ‘Stree’ and Kangana Ranaut in ‘Mental Hai Kya’, fans would hope Rajkummar’s pairing with Jahnvi has something fresh to offer too. The actor is also the lead in another Dinesh Vijan production, ‘Made in China.’

Janhvi, who tasted success with her debut ‘Dhadak’, is shooting for the Karan Johar production on Kargil hero Gunjan Saxena. She will also soon begin the shoot of KJo’s multi-starrer ‘Takht’ as well.
