Sanjay Dutt: Here’s a look at his role in Sadak prior to Sadak 2

Sadak 2 is the sequel of 1991 movie Sadak, that featured Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in pivotal roles. Sadak 2 will be directed by Mahesh Bhatt, who is making a comeback as a director after nearly two decades. This is the first time that Mahesh Bhatt will be directing both his daughters - Alia and Pooja. Sanjay Dutt played the role of a taxi driver in Sadak. Sanjay Dutt's role in Sadak

Ravi, played by Sanjay Dutt in the 1991 movie, is a taxi driver whose sister killed herself after she is diagnosed with an STD. Ravi often has nightmares about his sister’s death, which later turns him into an insomniac. He meets a beautiful girl who is a sex worker and works in a brothel for a woman called Maharani. Ravi soon falls in love with the sex worker, who is played by Pooja Bhatt. He visits the brothel to spend the night with her and takes her out on a romantic walk. He confesses his love to her and promises that he will come back each night to the brothel to meet her.

The next day, Ravi gets in a fight with the brothel owner and stabs her while escaping with Pooja. The couple along with their friends elope to a faraway land. Things get complicated from there on as the brothel owner’s henchmen catch up with the couple. Their friends get killed in a confrontation, while Ravi manages to escape alone without his lady love. Ravi is tortured and left on the road to die, but reminiscing the sad reality about his sister gives him the strength to fight against the henchmen and the brothel owner. He kills everyone and rescues Pooja. The role of Ravi is a perfect combination between romantic and an action hero.

Sanjay Dutt shared a video of the movie Sadak 2, which also had snippets from the 1991 movie. He thanked Bhatt for giving him Sadak and said that he was proud to take this journey on with Pooja and Mahesh Bhatt. Sadak 2 stars Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapoor along with Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt. The movie is expected to hit the theatres on March 25, 2020.
