TED Talks India is returning with a second season, and as per media reports, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan is all set to reprise his role as the host of the show. The show which will reportedly air on Shah Rukh Khan's birthday on November 2, is titled 'TED Talks India: Nayi Baat' and will feature 26 speakers from different walks of life.
As per media reports, the upcoming season will discuss several factors influencing the lives of the citizens like- healthcare, environmental awareness, and sexual abuse, among others. The previous season marked the first time that TED had collaborated with any broadcast network to bring on-screen some life-changing talks in any other language than English.
The second season of the renowned talk show will be filmed simultaneously in English and Hindi. Moreover, media reports suggest that it will also be dubbed in several other Indian languages including- Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali.
The selection of 26 "change-makers is about going deeper and finding ideas that matter and that can make a difference in India," said TED head Chris Anderson.
"Investment to do the show in more languages is very exciting for us. I don't think many other mass-market TV producers in the world have had that vision," he added.
Talking about Khan taking over as the host, Anderson explained, "He helps communicate complex ideas in an easy way. Also, he speaks Hindi and English incredibly well so that enables a massive connect with viewers."
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan who last appeared in 'Zero' is yet to announce his upcoming projects. While there were speculations about him shooting for the sequel of his hit venture 'Don', there is no confirmation on the same. The actor has been producing a number of ventures in the meantime. He also voiced Mufasa's character in the Hindi version of Disney's Lion King which surfaced recently.
