Today marks the 88th birth anniversary of the evergreen Shammi Kapoor who charmed his fans with his energetic dance moves, good looks and impeccable performances. Shammi Kapoor started his film career as a junior artiste in the year 1948. The actor made an impressive Bollywood debut with the film Jeevan Jyoti in the year 1953. Shammi Kapoor was born on October 21, 1931, to filmmaker Prithviraj Kapoor and his wife Ramsarni. The actor spent his childhood years in Kolkata and Peshawar in the Kapoor Haweli. Shammi Kapoor is known for acclaimed films like Tumsa Nahi Dekha, Teesri Manzil, Junglee, An Evening In Paris, and Brahmachari. The actor has worked on some cult soundtracks which are an all-time favourite of many listeners.

Badan Pe Sitaare

This dance number still remains one of the best soundtracks from Shammi Kapoor. The song was sung by Mohammed Rafi. The track had some notable dance moves from the yesteryear actor. The song was from the Shammi Kapoor cult film, Prince. Badan Pe Sitare had instantly managed to strike a chord with the masses due to its upbeat music and catchy lyrics. But it was Shammi Kapoor's unstoppable energy which added to the beauty of this track. 

Isharon Isharon Mein

This song remains one of the most romantic soulful numbers to date. The song was from the acclaimed film Kashmir Ki Kali. It also showcased the beautiful chemistry between Shammi Kapoor and Sharmila Tagore. The song was sung by Mohammed Rafi. The song brings instils a beautiful and alluring emotion among the listeners. 

O Haseena Zulfo Wali

This song remains an iconic number to date. Shammi Kapoor had immortalised this dance number with his infectious energy and sizzling dance moves. The song saw him shake a leg with yesteryear actor Asha Parekh. The song was from the film Teesri Manzil. There were many iconic dance numbers which came after this song but none of them matched the peppy and groovy vibe of this evergreen song.
