Sidharth Malhotra: Actor's Bollywood journey throughout the years

Bollywood actor Siddharth Malhotra has evidently had an interesting career graph in the Hindi film industry. The actor has worked in multiple movies, some of which have also been box-office hits. He began his career as a model at the age of 18. However, unhappy with the profession, Siddharth Malhotra went on to work as an assistant director to Karan Johar in the film My Name Is Khan. Debut Movie

Sidharth Malhotra made his Bollywood debut on October 19, 2012, in Karan Johar’s directorial Student of the Year. The movie also stars Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in pivotal roles. The plot of the movie is based on several alumni reminiscing about their final year at St. Theresa’s College and the events that changed their lives. The movie was a blockbuster hit at the box-office and became one of the highest-grossing films of the year.

Ek Villain – The turning point

The movie Ek Villain was a turning point in Sidharth Malhotra’s Bollywood career. The action-thriller was directed by Mohit Suri. The film also starred Riteish Deshmukh, Shraddha Kapoor and Aamna Sharif in significant roles. The story of the film was based on the life of a wife who becomes the latest victim of a serial killer. The husband crosses the line between good and evil in his pursuit of revenge. The film was commercially successful at the box-office with an earning of about ₹ 131 crores and was also critically acclaimed.

Other Successful Films

After his debut, Sidharth Malhotra was seen in the movie Hasse Toh Phasse opposite Parineeti Chopra in the year 2014. The movie did fairly well at the box-office. Sidharth Malhotra also appeared in the comedy-drama film Kapoor & Sons opposite Alia Bhatt, which was appreciated by the critics. Along with it, he was seen in the sports-drama movie Brothers with Akshay Kumar, which also did well at the silver screen

Choices that didn't work

Sidharth Malhotra was also a part of a couple of films which didn’t meet the expectation of his fans. Baar Baar Dekho which released in the year 2016 did not perform well at the box-office and was declared a flop. Sidharth Malhotra was paired opposite Katrina Kaif in the movie. His latest film Jabariya Jodi opposite Parineeti Chopra was also unable to meet crtitics' expectations.

What’s next for Sidharth Malhotra?

Sidharth Malhotra is all set with his upcoming movie Marjaavaan. Marjaavaan is directed by Milap Zaveri and is produced by Karan Joshi and Rameshchandra Yadav. The co-producer of the movie Bhushan Kumar described Marjaavan to be a violent, dramatic love story. The director of the movie Milap Zaveri had also written Sidharth Malhotra Ek Villain. Marjaavaan is scheduled to hit the theatres on November 8, this year.
