Sonali Bendre Behl diagnosed with cancer. Read her full statement here

Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre Behl has been diagnosed with cancer. The actress issued an official statement on Twitter, informing that she has been diagnosed with a “high-grade cancer that has metastasized.” In her post, Bendre also thanked her family and close friends “for providing the best support system one can ask for”.

Sonali Bendre also informed that she is  currently “undergoing a course of treatment in New York.” Bendre ended her letter with a powerful and defiant statement saying “I am tackling the battle head-on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me.”

Recently, Huma Qureshi replaced Sonali Bendre as one of the judges on the reality show, ‘India’s Best Dramebaaz’. The reason cited for the sudden bowing out of Bendre was an “unforeseen personal situation.” With Huma stepping in for Sonali, it will mark her debut on TV. Sonali tied the knot with filmmaker Goldie Behl in 2002 and they have a son, Ranveer. The actress who started her career as a model is known for her performance in movies like 'Dljale', 'Sarfarosh', Hum Saath Saath Hain among others.
