Sonam Kapoor and Anushka Sharma have demanded justice for a stray dog that was brutally beaten when it was found taking shelter near a Worli building in Mumbai during the rains. Sharing a video where the dog can be seen wriggling in pain, Sonam stressed than an FIR must be registered as soon as possible with the concerned police station. The same post was then shared by Anushka Sharma who expressed shock over the incident and wrote, "The inhumanity of this act is just unbelievable. This is the time for our community to step up and find a way to help get justice to a soul that can’t stand up for himself."
'Leila' actor Rahul Khanna too tweeted about the same and received a prompt response from the Mumbai Police. The officials informed the actor and the audiences that an FIR has been registered at the Worli Police station, and the two perpetrators of the heinous crime have been arrested.

The incident is said to have taken place on July 14 when a resident of the second floor of Turf view building, next to Nehru Planetarium instructed the watchman to beat up the dog in such a manner that no other animal would dare to enter the premises of the building. The watchmen on being instructed hit the dog ruthlessly and left it to suffer in pain in the society's compound. After the video of the same went viral on the internet, the Bombay Animal Rights on July 27 lodged an FIR with the Worli police station against the two accused, the resident of the building and the security guard of the building under IPC Sections 429 and 34.
