‘Sorry that this hurt you and others, not what I was trying to do’, clarifies Comedian Trevor Noah after he was called out for calling India-Pak conflict ‘most entertaining war of all times’

A few days back, a US-based comedian, Trevor Noah, chose to stage a show out of the military confrontation between the two countries — India and Pakistan, making a mockery out of a 'war'.

The political satirical comedian scripted his show calling this 'the most entertaining war of all times' and further pounded it with stereotypical and racist jibes. But for Noah, the grieving Indians called him out for his insensitivity and downright racism towards the brown skinned. 

The comedian was trolled extensively on social media.

And now, a few hours back, Trevor Noah took to his Twitter to share how he uses 'comedy to process pain and discomfort' and apologised for hurting the sentiments of people with his India-Pakistan joke.

He wrote: "Actually if you watch my stand up you'll see that I did make jokes after my mother was shot in the head. As a comedian I use comedy to process pain and discomfort in my world but I am sorry that this hurt you and others, that's not what I was trying to do."

And in the next tweet he further clarified, "It's amazing to me that my joke about the conflict in India and Pakistan trended more than the story of the actual conflict itself. Sometimes it seems like people are more offended by the jokes comedians make about an issue than the issue itself."

The above tweet didn't go well with the netizens and they again trolled him for being arrogant. 

Swara Bhasker retweeted his tweet and reacted by saying that he should 'drop his America centric condescension. She wrote -
