Prabhas, Prabhu Deva: South Indian actors who made it in Bollywood

The South Indian industry and Bollywood go hand in hand these days. Many South Indian movies are getting remade in Bollywood, while many South Indian megastars have been making their Bollywood debut into the Hindi Film Industry. One such example is Dulquer Salmaan, who made his Bollywood debut in Karwaan. Recently, Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor made her debut in the South Indian industry with her new movie Saaho. Here are few other South Indian actors who have taken the Bollywood industry by storm.

Prabhu Deva

Dancing master and actor Prabhu Deva has done many Bollywood movies. He has not only acted but also directed a few Bollywood movies. He starred in Remo D’Souza's ABCD- Any Body Can Dance and then went on to star in the second part of the franchise. He is currently directing Salman Khan starrer Dabangg 3. This is the third movie of the Dabangg franchise.

Prabhas

The actor quickly shot to fame after his role in Baahubali. Though it wasn’t considered to be his Bollywood debut, the movie was released under Karan Johar’s Dharma production banner. Prabhas made his Bollywood debut opposite Shraddha Kapoor this year in Saaho. Prabhas quickly became a household name after the first chapter of Baahubali, and hence, the second chapter of the movie was extremely anticipated.

Dhanush

Dhanush is an actor, director, playback singer, screenwriter, producer, writer, and lyricist. He shot to fame in Bollywood after acting opposite actor Sonam Kapoor in Raanjhanaa. He also acted along with Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan in Shamitabh. Dhanush is married to South Indian legend Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya.

Shruti Haasan

Shruti is the daughter of the South Indian megastar Kamal Haasan. She made her Bollywood debut as the lead female actor opposite her childhood friend Imran Khan in Luck. She shot to fame after her movie Ramaiya Vastavaiya. She is a style icon and has done more than five movies in Bollywood. Her sister Akshara recently too made her Bollywood debut.

Rana Duggubati

Rana Duggubati made his Bollywood debut opposite Bipasha Basu in the 2011 movie Dum Maaro Dum. He was also a part of the Akshay Kumar starrer Baby, which shot him to fame. However, it was his role as an antagonist in the movie Baahubali, which made him a household name. Rana Duggubati then went on to play many pivotal roles in Bollywood and has acted in many Bollywood movies. He will now be seen in Housefull 4, which is slated to release on October 25, 2019.
