Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is one of highest budgeted films of 2020

Tanhaji is an upcoming film starring Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan in prominent roles. The much-anticipated film is based on the life of a Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare. He was a military leader in the army of the Maratha Empire, led by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Set in the seventeenth century, Tanhaji showcases Ajay as Subedar Tanhaji Malusare, Saif as Udaybhan Rathod and Kajol will portray Savitri Malusare.

One of the high-budgeted Bollywood films

According to the sources, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’s estimated budget is around ₹150 crores, besides Hrithik Roshan- Tiger Shroff starrer War which cost ₹ 200 crore. Ranveer Singh’s Padmaavat, Salman-Katrina starrer Tiger Zinda Hai, and Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero are some of the most expensive Bollywood films. As per the reports, the makers of Tanhaji have spent a lot of money on the film’s VFX. The film will probably come under the list of high-budgeted films of 2020.

The first look

Helmed by Om Raut, the much-anticipated film is scheduled to release on January 10, 2020. The dates of the film were pushed ahead due to some reasons. Initially, the film was supposed to release in December 2019. The director posted the first look of the film more than two years back on his official social media handle.

Later on, Om Raut shared a new look of his forthcoming film. The poster features Ajay Devgn in an army outfit. Ajay is visible with a sword in his hand while his face is covered except for bloodshot eyes brimming with anger. The director wished Happy New Year to fans in this new poster on January 1, 2019.

 

Ajay-Kajol share screen after Toonpur Ka Superhero

Om Raut’s upcoming directorial film is produced under the banner of Ajay Devgn Ffilms and T-Series. Ajay Devgn was last seen in Luv Ranjan’s romantic comedy De De Pyaar De opposite Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu. The Singham actor will share the screen with his wife Kajol after about eight-nine years ago. The couple was last seen together in action-comedy animated movie Toonpur Ka Superhero in 2010.
