Tanushree Dutta, who recently returned from the United States, shocked the Nation when she opened up about the trauma she went through in the year 2008, on the sets of 'Horn OK Pleassss', she accused actor Nana Patekar of misconduct and choreographer Ganesh Acharya of being a part of it. As per Tanushree's statement, Nana tried to get too touchy with her while filming a song sequence which made her feel uncomfortable and hence she stalled the shoot and locked herself in her vanity van. Later, when she was leaving the sets that evening, she was allegedly attacked by goons who tried to damage her car, and according to Tanushree, those goons were called by Nana Patekar and Ganesh Acharya to threaten her.

When Tanushree opened up about this, Bollywood celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, and Sonam Kapoor to name a few poured their support for the actress, they stood with her and used social media as a medium to lend support to her. On the other hand, megastars like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and others preferred to stay mum.

Recently a video clip from the trailer launch of 'Thugs of Hindostan' went viral where Amitabh Bachchan was asked to comment on Tanushree's allegations against Nana Patekar. According to the actress, the veteran's response was vague and irrelevant, he said neither is he Tanushree nor is he Nana Patekar to comment on the issue.

When Tanushree was asked to react on Amitabh Bachchan's evasive response, reportedly, she said she was hurt because these are the people that do movies on social causes. They play roles in films and the audience applauds. But when it comes to standing up and doing something about something that is happening right in front of them, there are such evasive statements that don’t make sense.

Tanushree lately released a statement which read,

"My throat is swollen, voice down and I'm unwell because of the exhaustion of the last few days. For the last 8 years that I've been on the spiritual path regardless of which part of the world I am, I mostly prefer to live in solitude, silence, prayer and meditation and have gotten used to that peaceful lifestyle. I only come out and interact socially and even speak only when the need is for work or other social commitments"
