Tara Sutaria doesn't let 'anorexic' and 'overweight' tags bother her

The actor who charmed her way into the industry with her talents spoke about body shaming and professional growth post debut film Student Of The Year 2.

Tara Sutaria is a treat for her fans when it comes to her sartorial choices as well as flaunting her million-dollar smile. The actor is currently gearing up for the release of her next Bollywood venture Marjaavan opposite Siddharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh. However, in a recent interview with an entertainment portal, the actor revealed that she had to struggle with criticism that came along with her debut in the film industry.

Tara Sutaria revealed that she was body-shamed to an extent that people would either call her anorexic for having lost weight post her debut film, Student Of The Year 2, or they would call her overweight otherwise. The actor said that these statements about her body would bother her initially but now she had made up her mind to not take these comments seriously. She stated that she understood the fact that people are never going to be satisfied with anything.

From small to big screen

The actor also spoke about her growth as a professional actor after her debut film. Tara Sutaria was previously associated with Disney India Channel as she had started her acting career at the age of 15. At a young and impressionable age, she recalled that any kind of criticism was pulling her down. However, the filming of her film Student Of The Year 2 changed her outlook and taught her newer ways to deal with criticism.

What's next for Tara Sutaria?

Tara Sutaria is all set to feature in Milan Zaveri's directorial Marjaavan opposite Siddharth Malhotra. The film will release in Indian theaters on November 22. The actor is currently filming for Milan Luthria's romantic action film Tadap in which she will be seen opposite veteran actor Suniel Shetty's son Ahaan Shetty. The film is reportedly a remake of Telugu film RX100.
