Varun Dhawan had once seconded filmmaker Karan Johar's stand on nepotism in Bollywood, the two were joined by Saif Ali Khan and in unison, they said, "nepotism rocks" at the IIFA Awards in 2017. They also went on to take a jibe at 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' actress Kangana Ranaut, thereafter began the heated episode on nepotism. And now Dhawan junior in a recent interview expressed his views on nepotism and it looks like he had a change of opinion.

The 'Sui Dhaaga' actor went on to say that its exists in the industry, but "it's not good". He also emphasised on how people from outside the industry should be given the opportunity to show their mettle. Giving the example of his father David Dhawan, he mentioned how he didn't have a filmy background and nor did he have contacts in the entertainment industry when he embarked on his journey.

He further added that his father has made many sacrifices to be where he is today and has come a long way ever since. His family lived in a one bedroom, hall, kitchen flat at Carter Road when the actor was born. His father's first car was a second hand Ambassador which was functional as a taxi that he had repainted in order to make it look like a private car. The actor called his father his 'star, hero, superhero'.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR VARUN DHAWAN?

Varun will next be seen 'Sui Dhaaga' starring opposite Anushka Sharma. From the little we saw in the trailer it looks like the 31-year-old actor has stepped out of his usual mold, which doesn't mean he's no longer the fun guy, but this time around his character seems to have more layers. A man from the rural interiors of the country living life on his norms with a wife, who has more faith in his abilities and sees way more potential than he can ever imagine. 'Sui Dhaaga' seems like a roller coaster ride with twists and turns, let's see what it has to unfold. Helmed by Sharat Kataria the film is scheduled to release on September 28.
