Varun Dhawan signed for Sriram Raghavan's movie on Arun Khetarpal?

Varun Dhawan is reportedly signed to be a part of Sriram Raghavan's Ekkees. The actor will be playing the role of Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. Arun Khetarpal is a recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. Ekkees is going to be a biopic on Arun, who is an Indian Army Officer.

This is not the first time when Varun Dhawan will be playing a serious role. He showed his rugged talent in the movies Badlapur and Kalank. According to a report in a leading newspaper daily, the title of the movie is not yet confirmed. Reports claim that the title is possibly Ekkees, as Arun was just 21 years old when he was martyred. The report also claimed that the first look along with the poster of the movie will be out in December.

Producer Dinesh Vijan has talked about this project in an interview with a news portal. He said that Ekkees is a prized project. He also said that they will start with the work after the release of Coolie No. 1. He shared that they have started with the pre-production work of the movie as it is a big project. The entire pre-production will take about six months to complete.

Dinesh has also worked with Varun and Sriram in the movie Badlapur. Talking about reuniting with the two, Dinesh said that Sriram has been doing wonderful work when it comes to movies like Andhadhun. He also talked about his personal connection with the movie. He lost his father and Ekkees has a strong father-son story roped in.

Varun Dhawan will be seen next in the movie Coolie No. 1. The movie also stars Sara Ali Khan. It will be a David Dhawan directed movie.
