It has been 15 years since the initial release of Veer Zaara. The movie was first released on November 12, 2004, and was an instant sensation upon its release. The romance-drama was directed and produced by Yash Chopra, who was once the most renowned directors/producers in all of Bollywood. The movie starred superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta in the lead roles of Veer and Zaara respectively and also starred Rani Mukerji in a prominent role. The film told a touching and beautiful tale of true love that surpassed all boundaries, whether it be of countries, religions, families or politics. On the occasion of the film's 15th anniversary, Preity took to her social media to talk about why Veer Zaara was one of the best works of her life.

Today on November 12, 2019, Preity Zinta spoke about Veer Zaara on her Twitter as well as Instagram accounts, on occasion of the movie's 15th anniversary. The actor praised every aspect of the film, from its memorable and beautiful music to the acting and direction. She also spoke about the late Yash Chopra in her post, saying that she would always remember his loving attitude and work ethics and how he would ask her to call him Yash uncle.  Veer Zaara is still remembered as one of the best works of Yash Chopra as well as from the actors involved in the film. The movie won several awards and accolades after its release, including the Filmfare's best dialogue and best story award. The movie was written and co-produced by Aditya Chopra, son of the late Yash Chopra who directed Veer Zaara. Yash Chopra passed away on October 21, 2012, at the age of 80.
