'Veergati' Actress Pooja Dadwal Recovers From Tuberculosis, Expresses Gratitude Towards Salman Khan

'Veergati' actress Pooja Dadwal is thankful to Salman Khan as she recovered from Tuberculosis.

Earlier this year, Salman Khan's co-star Pooja Dadwal from the 1995 film 'Veergati' made headlines when reports of her battle with Tuberculosis surfaced. The former actress reportedly sent an SOS to Salman via a video message seeking his aid. As per reports, Pooja, who reportedly was a casino manager in Goa before she was diagnosed with TB, couldn't afford her treatment. Later, Salman during his 'Dabangg' tour press conference, reportedly broke his silence on his co-star's sorry state and said that he is trying to help Pooja as much as he can. As per reports, the actor added that his stepmother Helen is taking care of the former actress. It is now being reported that Pooja has recovered and is discharged from the hospital.

As per reports, Pooja has expressed her gratitude towards Salman Khan and said that she thought she was going to die in the corner of her hospital ward. The former actress further went on to say that after her family and friends had abandoned her and her the doctors informed her that her lungs were severely affected, she had given up hope. Pooja Dadwal further added that one of the side-effects of tuberculosis is social rejection, however, Salman Khan came to her rescue and lent her his support. The former actress went on to say that Salman's foundation provided her with everything from food to medicines, clothes, diapers, etc. Reports had suggested that when she was admitted to the Sewri hospital in March, Pooja weighed 23 kg. Reportedly, the hospital's staff stated that the former actress was in need of oxygen support for two months. As per reports, Pooja's condition improved after she received financial aid from Salman Khan's Being Human foundation.

Meanwhile, Ravi Kishan, who starred alongside Dadwal in the 1997 film ‘Tumse Pyar Ho Gaya’, reportedly sent his colleague money and fruits to be given to Dadwal during her stay at the hospital. A video of Ravi Kishan's colleague giving money and a box full of fruits to Pooja is being shared on social media.

Pooja Dadwal has also starred in films like ‘Dabdaba’, ‘Inteqam’, and ‘Sindoor Ki Saugandh’.
