Vicky has done a handful of substantial films before his recent commercial and critical successful releases. Vicky shared his screen space with Bollywood's top actor Ranbir Kapoor in Bombay Velvet as Kay Kay Menon's junior. Although it was a minor role, he still got a chance to appear alongside an already established actor in the film like Ranbir Kapoor who had won numerous praises and awards for his performance in Barfi. Bombay Velvet also had Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar in pivotal roles.

Masaan was the first movie where Vicky Kaushal appeared in an independent role. The film earned him the best male debut at IIFA and Star Screen Awards. Masaan featured Vicky Kaushal, Richa Chadha, Shweta Tripathi, and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles. All of his co-stars were already established actors, especially Pankaj Tripathi, who is extremely loved by the audience.

Vicky Kaushal got to work with Nawazuddin Siddiqui during his early career in Raman Raghav 2.0, where Vicky Kaushal portrayed the role of a cop who was chasing the serial killer, Nawazuddin.

Vicky Kaushal received massive applauds for the film Uri and this was his most successful film up till now. He was the leading actor of the movie and also shared his screen space with another popular TV actor Mohit Raina. Mohit Raina had made his name amongst the television watchers as Mahadev in the serial Devon ke Dev... Mahadev. Mohit Raina also appeared in 21 Sarfarosh - Saragarhi 1897 series, which is now available on Netflix.

Vicky Kaushal films: Upcoming movies

Vicky Kaushal is filming for another patriotic film, Sardar Udham Singh. In this film, he portraying the film's titular role as a freedom fighter. The film is expected to release in 2020. Vicky will also be seen in a horror movie titled Bhoot - Part One: The Haunted Ship produced under Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. Karan Johar's Takht will also see an ensemble cast in a period drama, which includes Vicky Kaushal in a pivotal role.
