WATCH | Daler Mehndi determined to take efforts so that every jawan gets bulletproof jackets, seeks Aamir Khan, Anupam Kher’s support

In the wake of Pulwama terror attack, Daler Mehndi expressed his willingness to do all that it takes so that every jawan gets a bulletproof jacket. The veteran singer also sought the support of the film fraternity and tagged Aamir Khan, Anupam Kher and Anil Kapoor as well apart from the Government.

In the wake of Pulwama terror attack, several Bollywood stars made donations for the families of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country. While the jawans died because of an explosion, there are numerous soldiers who get killed during the firing on the battlefield. Daler Mehndi expressed his willingness to do all that it takes so that every jawan gets a bulletproof jacket. The veteran singer also sought the support of the film fraternity and the Government to support his intent.

In a video he posted on Twitter, Daler is heard saying, “Every jawan should have a bulletproof jacket so that we can be safe from these incidents. I feel very sad that day by day, our jawans getting martyred and we are just seeing it and are not able to do anything. So, it is my request to collect funds, be it donating to Prime Minister’s fund or any other way, so that each and every jawan gets a bulletproof jacket. It’s because of jawans that we are alive.” 

The singer asked the entertainment fraternity to stand up for the soldiers and tagged Aamir Khan, Anupam Kher and Anil Kapoor. He also tagged the ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, among others. 

He also replied to a fan who asked about safety for bomb explosions, Daler replied bulletproof vehicles and jammers were important.

Reports in April last year of the formalities for Indian Army getting 1.86 lakh bulletproof jackets getting approved had surfaced, but it’s not clear if they have been delivered yet. 3.53 lakh jackets was reported to be the requirement of bulletproof jackets at that time.
