After releasing a quirky number 'Gold Tamba', the makers of 'Batti Gul Meter Chaalu' have released another song from the film. The second song, 'Dekhte Dekhte' is a slow romantic number featuring Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. The song is a rendition of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's original song. The song is rewritten by Manoj Muntashir, composed by Rochak Kohli and sung in the soulful voice of Atif Aslam.

The song traces the troublesome period of Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's relationship. Shahid Kapoor is seen trying to make contact with his ladylove who refuses to talk to him. He gets nostalgic about all their happy time together. The lyrics beautifully captures the mood of the situation paired with the chemistry of the lead pair. The song has a ghazal feel to it which makes it all the more enjoyable to listen.

The film is about the power theft menace in their town. The trailer that released a week ago revealed that Shahid Kapoor and Divyendu Sharma are good friends and Sharma is also Shradhha Kapoor's brother. Divyendu is a hard working person and is earnestly running a business. Sharma, however, gets into trouble when he gets an electricity bill worth over a lakh. The humongous sum is due to power theft which he is probably not aware of. He goes to government departments to sort out his issue but fails to reach a desirable conclusion. he commits suicide and this creates a turmoil between Shraddha and Shahid's relationship, as she feels that Shahid was way too carefree and did not support his friend in times of need.

The song 'Dekhte Dekhte' must be featuring after Sharma's character dies. Atif Aslam clearly voices Shahid Kapoor's emotions who now regrets of not having helped his friend and also remorses losing his ladylove's trust.

The film is helmed by Shree Narayan Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar under the banner of T-series.
