Ranveer Singh is looking the perfect ‘Gully Boy’ since the trailer and the song ‘Apna Time Aayega’ hit social media. The actor is being lauded for his rapping skills, from the vocals to the mannerisms, and two persons have played a major role in helping him do so. The ‘Padmaavat’ star, whose character in the Zoya Akhtar directorial is modelled on the lives of street rappers-turned-stars Naezy and Divine, recently had a reunion with the duo.

Apart from the stories being inspired from Naezy and Divine’s lives, Zoya even ‘jammed’ with the two while scripting her story and Ranveer almost became brothers with them as he fine-tuned his skills under their guidance for his role.

However, after the prep, the trio got busy with their respective ventures, and it got hard for them to catch up again. On Thursday, Zoya made a random plan for them to reunite and from jamming in the studio to showcasing their swag while posing for the cameras, the evening was filled with a lot of fun.

“It has been a while since the entire core gang of Gully Boys hung out together. Zoya was busy filming and then editing his film. Ranveer got busy with Simmba and the promotions around the success of the film. In the meantime, Gully Boy trailer dropped out of nowhere and became a rage across the country. Zoya made an impromptu plan last evening for a big catch up session and called in Ranveer, Naezy and Divine. They hung for about 2 to 3 hours chatting about life and Gully Boy, bonding over music and of course a lot of impromptu rapping!” says a source who was present at Bandra’s recording studio Purple Haze.

Ranveer had captioned a snap with them on Instagram as ‘Wolfpack.’ Moreover, the actor had shared a hilarious video singing the track ‘Mere Do Anmol Ratan’ with them and that just proves how important he considers Naezy and Divine’s contribution to the film.

‘Gully Boy’, produced by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby Productions, also stars Alia Bhatt, among others and is set to release on 14 February.
