WATCH: 'She's one of my favourites': Alia Bhatt showers love on 'didi' Deepika Padukone

The news of the growing friendship between the Bollywood divas Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone is making the headlines lately. Alia who is now all set to share screen space with Deepika's husband Ranveer Singh in 'Gully Boy', recently opened up about the strong bonds she shares with the 'Piku' actress. 

Defying all rumours of cold vibes between the two actresses owing to their common interest, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt in a recent interview said that Deepika is her favorite too. 

During a promotional event of 'Gully Boy' where she appeared alongside Ranveer Singh, she was asked to say something about his co-star's wife, to which the actress said that  Deepika is beautiful inside-out. Praising her beauty she said, God, must have created her with patience and perfection. Identifying Deepika as her 'didi' (elder sister) she also stated that she has been spending a lot of time with Deepika lately, and it's not just her looks but her both her soul and personality are beautiful.

"You know how they say, God created someone with a lot of love & spent a lot of time. Not only in her looks but her soul & personality. I've had have the good fortune of spending quite some time with her of late. She's also one of my favourites." she was heard saying in a short video of the interaction that surfaced on the internet recently.

Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt who shared screen space for a cameo appearance in Shah Rukh Khan's 'Zero', also appeared together at the debut episode of Karan Johar's controversial chat show 'Koffee with Karan' season 6.

Meanwhile, Directed by Zoya Akhtar, 'Gully Boy' stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead. The film tells the story of an aspiring rapper from a humble beginning who struggles his way up to the heights of fame. 

The film has already raised the expectations of the audience with its rap-packed trailer and a splendid performance of the lead pair in the preview. Moreover, it has been selected for an international film festival, which already speaks volumes about what to expect. It will be co-produced by Zoya Akhtar's Tiger Baby and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment productions. 'Gully Boy' is all set to hit the big screens on February 14, 2019.
