’We can’t let this be forgotten’: Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Paresh Rawal, others vent their anger at the death of CRPF jawans in Jammu and Kashmir

Celebrities from the film industry are furious and vented their anger out on social media after 30 jawans of the Central Reserve Police  Force (CRPF) were martyred in the terrorist attack that took place in Jammu Kashmir’s Pulwama on Thursday. Many of them conveyed their condolences to the families, prayers for the injured and the need to hit back at the terrorists. Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Paresh Rawal, Anupam Kher, were among those who tweeted.

Celebrities from the film industry are furious and vented their anger out on social media after over 30 jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were martyred in the terrorist attack that took place in Jammu Kashmir’s Pulwama on Thursday. Many of the stars conveyed their condolences to the families, prayers for the injured and the need to hit back at the perpetrators.

Paresh Rawal, who is also a Lok Sabha Member of Parliament, described the attacks as a ‘dastardly act’ and voiced his urge to see the perpetrators ‘punished severely and decisively.’ The ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ star asserted the need to fulfil our responsibility towards our jawans by targetting the enemies ‘outside and within.’ 

Akshay Kumar tweeted he was ‘numb beyond belief’ at the ‘dastardly terror attack’. The actor wished peace to the martyred souls and strength to their families. He also wished the injured a speedy recovery and concluded, ’We can’t let this be forgotten.’ 

Vicky Kaushal, who recently featured in the movie 'Uri: The Surgical Strike', based on the surgical strikes following the attacks in Uri in 2016, wrote he is 'deeply saddened and shocked' and conveyed his thoughts to the grieving families of the martyrs and for recovery of the injured.  

Ajay Devgn called it ‘horrible and disgusting’ and added ‘anger can’t be put into words.’ 

Priyanka Chopra wrote, 'Hate is NEVER the answer' to convey her shock and expressed her solidarity with the families of the martyred jawans and injured soldiers.   

Anupam Kher tweeted he was ‘deeply saddened and so angry’ at the ‘cowardly attack’ and added that his heart went out to the families that 'lost a son, brother, husband or father'. The veteran also prayed for the recovery of the injured. 

Arjun Kapoor tweeted, ‘Saddened & Shocked’ about the ‘cowardly attack’ and added his heart goes out to the families. 

Abhishek Bachchan termed it a ‘terrible news’ and shared how ‘hate raises its ugly head’ on the day when people are celebrating love, referring to Valentine’s Day. He conveyed his thoughts and prayers to the martyrs and their families. Paying a tribute to the martyrs, in his next tweet, he posted emoticons of the Indian tricolour and gratefulness and concluded it with the hashtag #Jaihind. 

Swara Bhasker conveyed her fury at the incident, calling it ‘shameful’, ‘tragic & shocking,’ and slammed the terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed for ‘brazenly & shamelessly’ claiming responsibility. The ‘Veere Di Wedding’ star lashed out at the ‘monsters’ with ‘no soul, no humanity’ for the ‘pure evil’ act. She even tagged Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to ask him why the outfit had a ‘safe haven’ in the country. 

Madhur Bhandarkar wrote he was ‘saddened’ by the ‘cowardly and heinous attack’ while conveying his ‘deepest condolences’ to the families of the ‘brave jawans’. He also prayed for the recovery of the injured. 

R Madhavan fumed at the terror outfit ‘celebrating a win’ after the ‘dastardly and cowardly attack.’ The actor added that just condemning is not enough and asserted the need to ‘wipe out not just their smiles, but their faces’ and concluded, ‘Show us our revenge, instill dismay and dread with the retaliation.’ 

Vishal Dadlani conveyed his anger for the ‘sickening, cowardly attack’ and urged to bow before the soldiers in ’respect and gratitude.’ 

Atul Kasbkear called it ‘awful news’.

Earlier in the day, at least 30 jawans were martyred and many were left injured in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama. The 54 Battalion of CRPF was targeted by the terrorists as their vehicle was attacked with an IED blast. There were 35 personnel aboard the vehicle that was attacked and as per CRPF sources, 100 kg of explosive was used in IED blast. Moreover, Pakistan backed Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility for the biggest terror attack in the last 15 years, in a text message to Kashmiri News Agency GNS.
