‘You gorgeous’: Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, other stars laud Tahira Kashyap’s new look

Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife, director Tahira Kashyap Khurrana has got rid of her extensions and shaved her head after chemotherapy for treatment of breast cancer. B-Town stars lauded the filmmaker for her new look with words like ‘hot’, ‘amazing’ and ‘beautiful.’

Tahira on Wednesday shared pictures of her new look on social media and wrote about being ‘new me with the old self’. She expressed how it is ‘liberating’ for her after getting ‘tired of the extensions’ as she doesn’t have to ‘duck the shower while bathing or while picking up the soap’. She added that she wasn’t keen to go bald till now and was ‘stretching’ her ‘time with the good ol’ cap for too long’, but concluded that the decision ‘feels so good.’ 

Tahira’s look left B-Town impressed. While husband Ayushmann Khurrana termed her ‘hottie’, Deepika Padukone also called her ‘hot’. Hrithik Roshan described her as ‘amazing,’ Huma Qureshi termed her ‘gorgeous’, Neha Dhupia used the word ‘sundari’ (beautiful) and Dia Mirza expressed similar feelings. Atul Kasbekar was among the others who expressed his support.

Tahira in September last year had revealed that she has been detected with DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) in her right breast with high grade malignant cells. “Simply put stage 0 cancer/ pre-cancerous stage, with cancer cells multiplying in a contained area,” she had described it. 

In November, the filmmaker had shared that she is ‘dealing with cancer stage 1 a’ and that she was done with six chemotherapy sessions out of 12 and her ‘cap look’ was because of the effect the sessions have on one’s hair.

The last chemotherapy had taken place earlier this month and Tahira had expressed her excitement about it by sharing pictures with Ayushmann in the hospital and writing, “Can’t keep calm!!! Last and final chemo! F**k yesss!! It’s been some journey. The learning has been immense, some of which, I know, I will realise with time. Thank you to each one who has been praying for me! Lots of love and prayers from my end to each one of you! My heart is bouncing with joy and gratitude🙏.” 

Tahira’s positive manner of narrating her diagnosis and treatment was lauded by Bollywood stars previously.
