'Zero': The Shah Rukh Khan starrer fails to impress critics, collects a total of 20.14 crores

This week's only solo release has opened at the box office and has collected a total of a collection of Rs 20.14 crore on day 1. The romantic drama features Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, and Katrina Kaif opened up to mixed reviews. While for many SRK fans it was a lovely watch, a few criticized the film for being too tedious. 

On the opening day of the film, trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the first box office collection and wrote " #Zero has underperformed on Day 1, despite extensive release [4380 screens] + #Christmas vacations… Sat and Sun biz extremely crucial… Fri ₹ 20.14 cr. India biz.” The film’s performance is better than Shah Rukh’s last release Jab Harry Met Sejal which earned Rs 15.25 crore on the day of its release.

 The trade analyst further gave a one-word review to the film and stated that it was an 'epic disappointment.'

However, the film has received mixed responses from the viewers. While many praised the film for the performance of the actors and the unique content of the film, a lot of them have also criticized it for having no storyline.

The film itself is a story of a vertically challenged man from Meerut name Bauua Singh who falls in love with a woman with cerebral palsy, played by Anushka Sharma. It is his extraordinary tale as he fights for his ladylove tooth and nail. 'Zero' also has a special appearance from Salman Khan and lot female stars from Bollywood.
