2016 Heard deposition played in Johnny Depp libel trial

Depp has taken legal action against the newspaper for an April 2018 article that labelled him a “wife beater” for allegedly abusing Heard.

A clip of a 2016 deposition with Amber Heard was played in court on Monday during a libel case between Johnny Depp and publishers of The Sun newspaper. Depp has taken legal action against the newspaper for an April 2018 article that labelled him a “wife beater” for allegedly abusing Heard.In the deposition clip, Heard spoke about an incident with Depp when police were called to her home.She said in the video: "They said I looked hurt."

Heard has accused ex-husband Depp of abusing her both physically and verbally while he was allegedly bingeing on alcohol and drugs, claiming that at various times during their tempestuous relationship she feared for her life.On her first day of testimony on Monday, Heard told the court she feared Depp would kill her.Depp, who strongly denies abusing Heard, was at the court to hear his ex-wife's evidence.
