Selena indirectly addresses Baldwin's comments

Selena while seemingly addressing the comments made by the 22-year-old model, said in a live Instagram video, "I am so grateful for the response to the song. However, I will never stand for women tearing other women down. So please be kind to everyone." She then went on to say, "Please be kind, I don't like seeing people being disrespectful or rude to others. So please don't do that". Bieber's wife recently uploaded an Instagram story which featured her listening to the song I'll Kill You after Selena released her new track Lose You To Love Me. The lyrics of the track triggered assumptions that they hinted at her previous relationship with Justin Bieber.

Selena on Lose You To Love Me

In June this year, Selena spoke about her upcoming project while appearing on a talk show. "I have to do a few finishing things with it, but I'm just relieved," she said, adding, "It took me four years now to even feel at a good place with this album, and it's just because I had such huge moments that happened in my life personally that 'how was I going to capture that?' And how was I actually gonna feel good about what I was saying?"

After releasing the song, Selena wrote that the song has been inspired by a lot of things that happened in her life since the time her last album released. She wrote on Youtube, "I want people to hope and to know you will come out of the other side stronger and a better version of yourself".
