Disney announces release dates of new Marvel films & 'The Last Duel'; check full schedule

Walt Disney Studios announced their release schedules until 2023 with eight MCU films; speculation about the titles of some of the films yet to be confirmed

Within a week of the launch of its streaming services, Disney has announced its release schedule for the next three years. Their schedule includes several Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies which are eagerly anticipated by Marvel fans all over the world. They have also announced the release date of The Last Duel as well as the new date for The King's Man which is a prequel to The Kingsmen series starring Ralph Fiennes.

The Ridley Scott directorial period drama The Last Duel starring Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Adam Driver, and Jodie Comer is scheduled to have a limited release on Christmas next year. The film is based on a book by Eric Jager about the last judicial duel fought in 14th century France. The King's Man, directed by Matthew Vaughn, was scheduled to release in February next year but has now been pushed by 7 months for its release. The film will now release in September 2020.

Assembly for MCU Phase 4 and 5

However, the release dates for the Marvel films have always been something to look forward to. In 2020, MCU film on the deadly assassin Natasha Romanoff titled Black Widow will release on May 1 and The Eternals is scheduled to release on November 6. The Eternals reportedly has a stellar cast with Angelina Jolie, Kit Harrington, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden playing the roles of the immortal beings in this movie. In 2021, Shang Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings will release on February 12, Doctor Strange in The Multiverse Of Madness on May 7, Spider-man 3 on July 16 and Thor: Love and Thunder will release on November 5.

The years 2022 and 2023 will see four MCU films a year as announced by Disney. The films are yet to be titled but their release dates are somewhat fixed. In 2022, Marvel's Black Panther 2, with Chadwick Boseman returning to assume the title of the protector of Wakanda, is scheduled to hit the screens on May 6 whereas other untitled projects are set to release on February 18, July 29 and October 7. The year 2023 will have four Marvel movies releasing on February 23, May 5, July 28 and November 3. These untitled Marvel movies could possibly include James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Peyton Reed's Ant-Man 3, Ryan Reynolds' feature Deadpool 3 and Mahershala Ali's Blade. MCU is also planning to produce films on The Fantastic Four and the X-Men.

Disney Plus will be available for users in India post the IPL season in 2020. Original MCU content on this streaming platform will include The Falcon and Winter Soldier in 2020; and WandaVision, Loki, Marvel's What If..? and Hawkeye in 2021. Most of the films from the MCU are reportedly already streaming on Netflix will be shifted to Disney Plus soon.
