Disney submits 'Avenger: Endgame' cast for Oscar nominations

Disney has reportedly submitted an application to get the main cast of Avenger: Endgame nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and Actress

The Walt Disney Company has reportedly submitted an application to get the main cast of Avenger: Endgame nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and Actress. Last month fans had also petitioned to get the Iron Man to star an Oscar for his central role in the movie. However, Disney's application included names like Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Josh Brolin, Paul Rudd, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, and Brie Larson. 

Disney has reportedly also made submissions for directors Anthony and Joe Russo to be nominated for Best Director and Kevin Feige for Best Picture. The company made sure to send applications for Best Cinematography, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing, Best Original Score, Best Visual Effects, Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, and Best Film Editing as well. Marvel has also been pushing Robert Downey Jr. to receive an Oscar nomination for his 'awards-caliber performance' during the final moments of the film.

Hollywood Blockbuster Award

Avengers: Endgame also won the Hollywood Blockbuster Award at the grand ceremony of '23rd Hollywood Film Awards' which was held on November 03 at The Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Executive Vice President of Production Victoria Alonso accepted the award. Avengers: Endgame became the highest-grossing film in the history of cinema.

The Avengers series started with the movie Iron Man in 2008, starring Robert Downey Jr. Eventually, in 2012 the first Avenger movie came out which was a multi-starrer, in which audiences saw Iron man, Captain America, The Hulk, and many other characters come together on the big screen. This science-fiction movie was well received by the viewers and critics. Movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are produced by Marvel Studios. The films are based on characters that had appeared in publications by Marvel Comics. There have been 23 films produced and released since 2007, with nine more being developed.
