'Game of Thrones' prequel on 'Fire & Blood' in works, fans go crazy

Fans go crazy after reports suggest HBO working on another prequel show to its super hit series 'Game Of Thrones'. Show to be based on Martin's 'Fire & Blood'

HBO is all set to come up with its another prequel show to its super hit series 'Game Of Thrones'.The prequel series is based on Geroge RR Martin's "Fire & Blood", a companion book to the author's "Song of Fire and Ice" saga according to Hollywood Reporter. Sources mentioned, the pilot, which is near a deal with the premium cable network would mostly focus on House Targaryen (a fictional exiled Great House of Westeros and the former royal house of the Seven Kingdoms). The pilot of the upcoming prequel is set 300 years before the events of the famous series that tracks the beginnings and the end of House Targaryen. Screenwriter Ryan Condal of the 'Colony', an American science fiction drama television series will write the script in collaboration with Martin based on Martin's book Fire and Blood.Though the official confirmation of the prequel has not been announced by the HBO yet. The book features the stories of previous Targaryen kings, like Aegon the conqueror, the first ruler of Westeros, and Aegon the Dragonbane all of whom are ancestors of star cast Daenerys Targaryen (actor Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (actor Kit Harington) who last appeared in GoT.

Casey Bloys: Not interested in sequels

Casey Bloys, HBO programming president told the Hollywood Reporter that he is not interested in doing any sort of sequel series to its recently concluded drama series GoT.HBO formally announced that it would contain four prequel series but later announced its addition of the fifth series in the following months. Of those announced, three are already active at the premium cable. Out of the three active prequel scripts, one of them is in the pilot stage. The drama series which stars Naomi Watts is being penned down by Jane Goldman and Martin and the events take place thousands of years before the events of GoT and "chronicles the world's descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour," according to HBO's official description.

Mixed reactions for GoT Season 8

The Watts-led project wrapped up its production earlier this summer. After a remarkable 8 year-long journey, the series concluded earlier this year with an eighth and last season. Game of Thrones became is a super hit and a very popular series among the viewers. On the other hand, the last season of the show has received mixed reactions from its fans and critics. Many fans got annoyed and filed a petition to remake the last season of the series with competent writers. More than 1 million people signed the petition. Game of Thrones has earned a whopping 32 Emmy nominations for its final season.
