The actor left his profound mark in the industry despite having contemporaries like Burt Lancaster and Kurt Douglas. Gregory was also nominated for the Oscars for delivering a powerful performance in the film, 'The Keys of the Kingdom.' Roman Holiday

The 1953 film saw Gregory Peck collaborate with the lovely Audrey Hepburn as he strived to establish himself as a new-age romantic hero. The duo shared amazing chemistry in the film especially in the Mouth of Truth and the Vespa jaunt around the Eternal City sequence. It is still a matter of grave despair that the pair were never cast together again. There is another interesting fact about the film — reportedly actors Elizabeth Taylor and Cary Grant were being considered to essay the main lead in the movie. 

To Kill A Mockingbird

The fact that his portrayal of a lawyer, Atticus Finch won him an Oscar for the cult film just proves that this remains one of the most memorable works of the actor. Reportedly, author Harper Lee was so impressed by Peck's performance that she gifted him, her father Amasa's gold pocket watch. Gregory stunned the audience with his commanding courtroom scenes. His camaraderie with child actors Philip Alford and Mary Badham was also appreciated by the viewers.

Spellbound 

This 1945 film not only catapulted Peck to the main league due to his enticing charm but also because of his intense act as an amnesiac. The film was directed by the legendary Alfred Hitchcock. But it was the massive female fan following which was garnered by the Yellow Sky actor was what surprised the entire film fraternity. Peck's chemistry with Ingrid Bergman in the film also went on to become the talk of the town.
