Jim Parsons to star in Ryan Murphy's Netflix series 'Hollywood'

Actor Jim Parsons has joined the star cast of Ryan Murphy's Netflix series Hollywood. The actor will be seen in the role of a talent agent called Henry Willson.

Jim Parsons, popularly known for his role in the Big Bang Theory has joined the star cast of Netflix series Hollywood. The actor will be seen in the role of a talent agent called Henry Willson, as reported by foreign media. He will star along with other A-listers like Samara Weaving, Dylan McDermott, Maude Apatow, Joe Mantello, Laura Harrier, and Jake Picking. Not much has been revealed about the plot by the makers of the series. However, the creator Ryan Murphy called his next a love letter to the Golden Age of Tinseltown.

Hollywood to release in May 2020

The series is expected to release in the month of May in 2020. The first season of the series according to reports will be set in the 1940s. In the month of February, Netflix gave the production a final order confirming it. The creator Ryan Patrick Murphy is an American screenwriter, director, and producer who is famous for a lot of hit television programmes. Ryan has won a number of Emmy awards several nominations at various award functions for his role as a producer, writer, director. Last year, he collaborated with Netflix for a period of 5 years with an amount of three hundred million dollars.

The breakthrough performance in The Big Bang Theory

The 46-year-old actor is most popular for his role of Sheldon Cooper in the sitcom The Big Bang Theory. He once reported that before the TBBT he auditioned for over 20-30 roles which did not work. His portrayal of Sheldon Cooper as a physicist won a lot of acclaim by critics and fans. The show went on for 12 seasons from the year 2007 to 2019. Parsons won several awards for his acting including the Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series.

Parsons in August last year refused to star in the next two seasons of the show that were offering him over 50 million dollars. In February 2019, Forbes named him as the highest-paid television actor in the world with an estimated income of $26.5 million per year.
