Phoenix: Stopped talking to him

Reports suggest that Casey Affleck was married to Phoenix's sister Summer Phoenix from 2006 to 2017.  In an interview, the 'Joker' actor revealed that he is not in touch with Affleck for many years now. He said that his sister and he separated and have not spoken to him (Casey) directly or indirectly since three or four years now. The two were last seen in the movie I'm Still Here which was a mockumentary film under the direction of Affleck that had a cartoon version of Phoenix.

Two sexual harassment cases were reportedly filed against Affleck in 2010 by two women who worked with him in 'I'm Still Here'. Affleck has refuted all charges levelled against him and has opted for an out of court settlement for a concealed amount. He and the accusers are not permitted to divulge details of the case.

Phoenix likewise did not discuss the sexual misconduct charges, Phoenix meanwhile is on the speculation market for an Oscar award for his role in the movie 'Joker.'

About 'Joker'

In the film Joker, Phoenix plays the role of Arthur Fleck, a man who gradually becomes the main rival to Batman. On October 3rd, Phoenix and film's director Todd Philips astounded fans at the New York City premiere of 'Joker.'  Although the film has received ire for its depiction of violence, John DeVore who is the editor in chief of 'Humungus' and has seen the film has reportedly remarked that audience stood and gave the actor and director a standing ovation after the movie screening. Phoenix was happy as he and filmmaker told the audience that it was their first screening of the movie night.

The editor later said that the audience was thrilled to see both of them and they seemed to love the movie and he doubts whether Philips and Phoenix could have received a warmer welcome. 'Joker' tells a different take on the comic book villain's origin story and follows the story of an aspiring stand-up comedian whose mental health issues escalated and gradually leading him to live a life of a criminal. The film also stars  Robert De Niro, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.
