Joaquin Phoenix had big shoes to fill after Heath Ledger's evidently disturbing yet amazing portrayal of Joker. Though Jared Leto portrayed the menacing character in Suicide Squad, fans reportedly did not enjoy his version of the Joker. Joaquin Phoenix's performance is being appreciated by the critics and audiences alike. His portrayal is being called the best on-screen portrayal of the character. The film is a character study of Joker which explores topics like manic depression and PTSD. The film currently stands at a rating of 9.4 on IMDB.

Joker post-credits scene

Joker ditched the traditional route for comic book movies by not including a post-credits scene. The film doesn't feature any post-credits and doesn't pitch a sequel, unlike many comic book films. The director of the film Todd Phillips had reportedly revealed it beforehand that the film will not feature any post-credits scene as it is a standalone film separate from the ongoing DC universe of films. The story revolves around a man evolving into the comic book character after the society repeatedly turns its back on him.

The filmmakers reportedly wanted to ensure that the film is a one-shot deal without baiting the audience for a sequel. Joaquin Phoenix has stated that putting a post-credits scene would seem wrong and a little too light for the subject of the film. The actor wished to feature a blooper reel alongside the credits like the old movies. The film doesn't feature a blooper reel in the credits either. A traditional rundown of names along with a musical cue is all the audience gets with Joker's credits. There were rumours that Robert Pattinson's Batman will make an appearance in the post-credits scene but that wasn't the case. As per reports, the filmmakers have decided to make the film stand apart than the other comic book films by breaking the post-credits scene stereotype.
