Korean dramas are evidently some of the most underrated but seemingly entertaining shows that you can watch. Even though Korean dramas are made for Korean audiences, their charm and storytelling have gained worldwide popularity. Many of the viewers feel that these shows are not only fun but are also very addicting to watch, so you can easily watch an entire season in a single day. Here are a few of the best Korean romantic dramas that you can binge this weekend:

Descendants of the Sun

Descendants of the Sun is one of the most popular Koren dramas to have ever been made. The show was, in fact, one of the major causes for the international rise in popularity of Korean shows. The show is a romantic action drama that follows the lives of a Korean soldier and doctor who fall in love. The acting, direction and cinematography for the show are all considered stellar, making it one of the most memorable and emotional romantic dramas. The show has won several awards including the Grand Prize in television during the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards held in South Korea. 

The Heirs

The Heirs, also sometimes called The Inheritors, is a romantic drama set in a Korean high school for the rich. The show is about the lives of rich and privileged high school students and portrays their relationships and struggle for power among themselves as well as their family. The show features popular Korean actors Lee Min-ho, Park Shin-Hye and Kim Woo-bin in the lead roles.

Boys Over Flowers is a Korean drama show based on a Japanese Manga of the same name written by Yoko Kamio. It is a romantic comedy-drama that stars  Ku Hye-sun, Lee Min-ho, Kim Hyun-Joong, Kim Bum, Kim Joon and Kim So-Eun in the lead roles. The show is about an ordinary girl who gets involved in the lives of a rich and arrogant boy and his friends. It is another highly popular Korean drama that has fans across the globe.

Guardian: The Lonely and Great God

Guardian: The Lonely and Great God is one of the best selling Korean dramas ever made and is a romantic urban fantasy. It tells the story of the goblin, or guardian who is the protector of souls and the landlord of the grim reaper. However, in the show, the goblin desires to finally die, for which he needs a human bride who can see what others can not. The goblin then meets an average girl who accidentally summons him and the show then portrays their misadventures and romance. Guardian: The Lonely and Great God stars popular Korean drama actors who have appeared in several other shows. The cast includes Gong Yoo, Kim Go-Eun, Lee Dong-Wook, Yoo In-na, and Yook Sung-Jae. 

All these shows have been critically acclaimed and have gigantic fan followings worldwide. The popularity of Korean dramas is only increasing and if you are interested in the genre, then these shows are great starting points to get a taste of Korean shows.
